Who or what is antVenture e.V.?

We are a group of passionate people who are determined to make a positive impact on the world - for more equality and equal opportunities. We are aware that we cannot change the entire world, but we are determined to make our contribution. To achieve this goal, we have chosen microfinancing as our approach - for more opportunities, more jobs and a self-determined life.

We selected the name "antVenture" as an inspiring pun referrig to:

The ant symbolises a multitude of small deeds that come together like an ant colony and can ultimately achieve something amazing.
Venture stands for our initiative to support small companies and help especially micro-enterprises in their start-up phase.
and in combination it sounds almost like adventure - and that's exactly what it is, both for the people we support and for us.

Microfinancing? What is that?

Microfinancing is a form of financial support that provides small entrepreneurs in countries of the Global South with access to small loans and financial services. This enables them to set up or expand their own businesses. Positive impacts include poverty reduction, strengthening the local economy and improving the quality of life. For example, a woman in a village can start a small business (such as cooking and selling food or making small everyday items) through a microloan, thereby feeding her family and contributing to the economic development of her community.

Microfinancing is particularly effective due to its focus on disadvantaged groups, especially women. Providing small loans and financial services will not only create economic opportunities but promote also social change. Women are given the opportunity to use their skills, to provide for their families and to strengthen their communities. This approach therefore not only promotes economic development, but also social justice and equality.

antVenture e.V. and Microfinancing – our goals

Hence, microfinancing can create new perspectives within communities, but how do we actually go about it? In our approach, we don't just want to give money to people - we want them to succeed with their business ideas!

That's why we base our microloans on viable business ideas and support for new entrepreneurs through training, mentoring programs and learning materials. Like in an ant colony, we achieve the best results when we all work together!

Our first project country will be Kenya: we already have good contacts there to make this venture a success!
